Eileen and I met in sad circumstances many years ago, due to her husband's illness. And yet, the thing that I remember most about her was her smile. She always seemed so positive, so welcoming, so grateful. It was always a pleasure to visit her.

I've probably met a couple of thousand patients and relatives since that time, although mostly only once or twice. Sadly, most I have forgotten. But some people make an impression, a lasting impression. And Eileen was one of those people. I’m grateful to have met such a warm and generous person.
